Join Katie Wignall, Blue Badge Tourist Guide, for the fourth and final part of her series on the history of London’s bridges created especially for ARTscapades, using high definition video, images and live commentary.

Bridges are not just practical but they express the architecture of the time, giving us hints about the past and an insight into the evolution of the city. In this instalment we’re discovering the history from Barnes to Kingston Bridge, ending with some of the oldest surviving bits of a London Bridge!

As usual you can expect quirky details and fun stories relating to the history of all these rail, vehicle and pedestrian crossings.

Please note — Part One: Tower Bridge to Blackfriars; Part Two: Waterloo Bridge to Vauxhall and Part Three: Chelsea to Hammersmith are available on demand from our Recordings page.

This is an online event hosted on Zoom which can be watched live with Q&A, or on-demand for one month afterwards. You will receive your link to access the event in your email confirmation and the on-demand link after the event ends.
