This ground-breaking exhibition explores Constance Spry’s exceptional life, achievements and legacy, drawing on exclusive access to her archive at the RHS Lindley Library.

Spry’s popularity has seen a huge resurgence in recent years as a new generation of floral designers rediscovers her radical approach to the art of flowers: seasonal, natural, yet unconfined by tradition and rules.

Guest curator, floral designer Shane Connolly holds the Royal Warrants of Appointment to HM The Queen and HRH The Prince of Wales. He is the author of A Year in Flowers (2012).

In this talk, following an introduction by the Director of the Garden Museum, Christopher Woodward, Shane will trace the exhibition, the story behind the objects and how it all came together during the challenges of lockdown.

Proceeds from our ticket sales benefit museums, galleries and other arts-based organisations and projects.

This is an online event hosted on Zoom which can be watched live, or on-demand for three weeks afterwards. You will receive your link to access the event in your email confirmation and the on-demand link after the event ends.
